Fiat showcased one of the trendiest launches at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show.
At the LA Convention Center on Thursday, the Italian automaker unveiled its latest iteration of its compact electric vehicle. The 2025 Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition is a collaborative effort between the famed Italian fashion designer and the carmaker from Turin, Italy. Fiat has previously collaborated with designers and stylists like Bulgari for other special versions of the 500e.
During the presentation, Aamir Ahmed, the head of Fiat North America, described the design of the latest 500e as “custom” and “monochrome.” The collaboration with Armani will feature two new color options inspired by Armani’s design philosophy: a signature green and a ceramic Greige, which is a mixture of gray and beige.
As the car appeared on stage, a screen displayed the message, “Don’t Drive It. Wear It.”
Inside the car and on the wheels, details such as Armani’s signature and initials are integrated throughout the vehicle, including on the front seat headrests and dashboard. The dashboard features a laser-cut design that creates a woodgrain look.
This four-seater (the 500e is a two-door model) showcases Chevron stitching and 3D patterns on the seats, reflecting the essence of traditional tailoring from a prestigious fashion house.
The 500e is equipped with a 42 kWh battery that provides a 150-mile range and a single motor. It delivers 117 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle can accelerate from zero to 30 mph in under 3 seconds. It is noteworthy that this is the lightest electric vehicle available, weighing under 3,000 pounds. Ahmed mentioned that it is designed as an urban vehicle for convenient commuting within a city. He also remarked that the battery allows for a 150-mile travel range on a single charge “while taking you somewhere emotional at the same time.”
The latest Collector’s Edition is set to launch in early 2025. While pricing details have yet to be revealed, the 2024 Fiat EV starts at $32,500, excluding a $1,595 destination fee.
The 500e was part of Stellantis’ presentation regarding its various brands’ electric offerings, including the new Dodge Charger Daytona electric muscle car, the Ram REV truck, and the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S.
The LA Auto Show runs from Friday through December 1 at the LA Convention Center. The 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition will be prominently displayed at the Fiat booth.
Promoting electric vehicles is essential for fostering a more sustainable future, and this is a primary focus for FIAT. The brand’s journey towards electrification is built upon two fundamental principles: reimagining the definition of an electric car and doing so through the lens of beauty. But why emphasize beauty? Because beauty evokes emotions, joy, and a sense of responsibility. It transforms electric driving into something not only exciting and appealing but also ethically sound, thereby creating a shift in perspective towards a more sustainable world, one vehicle at a time.
With this vision, FIAT presents the new Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition, a perfect fusion of Italian elegance and ethical dedication, designed to make a difference in the world with unmatched style. The Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition represents the ultimate showcase of Made in Italy craftsmanship on four wheels, launched during the celebrations of FIAT’s 125th anniversary, which coincided symbolically with the 90th birthday festivities for Maestro Giorgio Armani, and is now available to customers in Europe.
In an extraordinary revival of their partnership, both prestigious Italian brands have once again come together. Their initial collaboration in 2020 yielded a unique, one-off 500e, and now they have reunited to craft something truly remarkable. This project marks the first instance where two of Italy’s most well-known symbols of design, elegance, craftsmanship, and innovation have collaborated to create what can only be described as timeless Italian excellence.
This vehicle, proudly manufactured at the FIAT Mirafiori plant in Turin, serves as more than just a means of transport; it stands as a statement piece, representing the height of Giorgio Armani’s skill and the refined artistry of FIAT’s Centro Stile in Turin. The collaboration involved substantial teamwork among the designer and the FIAT crew over several months, aiming to capture the essence of both brands in a single work of art. The outcome is a vehicle crafted with the same meticulous focus on detail and commitment to quality that one would expect from a high-fashion collection. Hence its name, embodying a blend of quality selections, materials, colors, and overall design that reflect the same precision and style characteristic of both the automotive and fashion industries, resulting in an authentic Collector’s Edition.
This automotive and fashion gem, featuring design elements exclusively created for this special edition, will be offered for a limited time only during 2025. Customers who place orders will receive a personalized Welcome Letter signed by Olivier Francois and Giorgio Armani, adding a prestigious touch to the delivery experience.
For the 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s edition, two unique and exclusive colors have been developed, each enhancing the car’s sophisticated hatchback design. The first is a dark Green micinalised, a contemporary and technically advanced shade that reflects Giorgio Armani’s hallmark style and refined sensibility. The second is ceramic Greige, a classy and intricate hue created by Armani. This distinctive color blends gray and beige to yield a tone that is both elegant and unique, showcasing the collaborative innovation of this project.
Exterior and interior
Regarding the exterior, the Italian designers aimed to reduce contrasts and decorations to create a sleek, monochromatic appearance that harmonizes perfectly with Armani’s vision. The most prominent aspect of the exterior design is the wheels, which have been custom-designed to visibly display the GA logo on a grand scale. These wheels act as a central feature, ensuring the car stands out from afar. The design not only highlights the partnership’s spirit but also enhances aerodynamic efficiency through a subtly three-dimensional surface. The wheels boast a refined burnished bi-tone anodized finish and delicate lateral grooves, adding an extra layer of elegance to the overall look.
The interior of the 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s edition showcases outstanding craftsmanship, characterized by chevron stitching and three-dimensional designs on the central seat inserts that hint at traditional tailoring methods. The materials used in the cabin reflect both sophistication and the highest quality, merging cutting-edge technology with artisanal techniques. Innovative aspects include a dashboard insert made from laser-cut wood, which offers a softness akin to luxurious fabric.
This is enhanced by meticulously crafted artisanal details, such as intricate embroidery, demonstrating a commitment to fine workmanship. The vehicle also features the Milanese Maestro’s logo on both the wheels and seats, with his signature prominently displayed on the dashboard, interior doors, and rear window, reinforcing the unique nature of the collaboration and its meticulous attention to detail.
The 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s edition is equipped with state-of-the-art features, including Full LED Infinity Design headlamps and a sleek glass roof that adds to its contemporary appeal. On the tech front, the car comes with a high-end JBL audio system, a 7″ TFT Display, a 10.25″ Touch Screen NAV, DAB Radio, and supports Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto for smooth connectivity. Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by an electric motor generating 87 kW and 118 hp, offering a remarkable range of up to 320 km according to the WLTP combined cycle. Additionally, the 500e Giorgio Armani is equipped with the latest ADAS and a Level 2 assisted driving system, ensuring both advanced features and a safer driving experience.
This exciting Collector’s edition is currently available for purchase in Europe, with plans to broaden its availability to other regions worldwide soon.
The new “Ovation” campaign
This extraordinary collaboration is eloquently portrayed in the stunning and stylish commercial, Ovation (LINK). The visual story begins with the rendition of the classic song “Città vuota,” as the camera captures the nocturnal journey of the new Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition through the vacant streets of Milan. As it passes by landmarks like the Armani Hotel, Milan’s fashion streets, and the Armani boutique, the emptiness of the city is highlighted by the lack of people.
As the car continues its path, an unexpected and spectacular moment unfolds: the iconic Via Montenapoleone transforms into a breathtaking catwalk. A keen audience is poised for the arrival of the Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition, and when the car eventually makes its grand entrance, the atmosphere erupts in an elegant and emotional ovation. The entire city seems to celebrate this exceptional new model as the tagline “Don’t drive it, wear it” appears.
A significant collaboration between Giorgio Armani and FIAT has been unveiled to celebrate FIAT’s milestone anniversary, which coincides with the birthday of Maestro Giorgio Armani. These two internationally esteemed Italian brands, having collaborated previously in 2020 to create a unique 500e, have partnered once more to produce what could be the quintessential representation of Made in Italy on four wheels: the 500e Giorgio Armani. This is the first time that two iconic symbols of Italian design, style, craftsmanship, innovation, and success have joined forces to create such an “instant classic.” As hinted by the advertisement aired during the event, this car is meant to be worn, not merely driven—a homage to the expertise of Giorgio Armani and the Centro Stile FIAT in Turin.
The designer worked closely with the FIAT team for several months to capture the essence of both brands in a single masterpiece. The same level of meticulous detail, care for materials, colors, and style that characterizes both a new car and a fashion collection has been applied in this project. Now, FIAT and Giorgio Armani have walked the runway together with the new 500e Giorgio Armani on “La Pista 500.”
Such a level of craftsmanship, treatment, and detailing is seldom found in this category, but it is inherent to the 500, which represents Made in Italy and Italian excellence. These characteristics gain even greater importance and value when developed in partnership with the foremost name in Italian fashion. Proudly manufactured at the FIAT Mirafiori plant in Turin, the new 500e Giorgio Armani is exclusively available in a hatchback form that embodies the unrivaled elegance of Giorgio Armani and the bold character of the Fiat 500e.
Two distinctive and exclusive colors have been developed for the 500e Giorgio Armani: Dark Green Micinalised, a modern and technical hue that strongly reflects Giorgio Armani’s aesthetics, and Ceramic Greige, a sophisticated and refined color devised by Armani that fuses gray and beige to form both the hue and its name.
For the exteriors, the Italian designers focused on minimizing contrasts and decorations to achieve a more monochromatic appearance: pure, minimal, and in line with Armani’s vision. The most prominent exterior design feature is the wheels, which have been exclusively designed to showcase the GA logo on a larger scale. They serve as the car’s focal point, ensuring it is easily distinguishable from a distance. This specific design not only emphasizes the collaboration but also enhances aerodynamic efficiency with a slightly 3D surface. The warm burnished bi-tone anodized finish and the subtle lateral grooves add an exceptionally refined element.
The interiors demonstrate exquisite craftsmanship, featuring chevron stitching and three-dimensional patterns on the central seat inserts that echo traditional tailoring methods. Elegant and of the highest quality, the materials used inside the car can be paired with innovative and technical processes, such as laser-cut wood for the dashboard insert, which is as soft and inviting as luxury fabric, or with highly artisanal techniques like intricate embroidery. The new 500e Giorgio Armani includes the Milanese Maestro’s logo on the wheels and seats, while his signature can be found on the dashboard, interior door, and rear window.
The vehicle comes equipped with Full LED Infinity Design headlights and a glass roof. In terms of technology, it features a top-tier JBL audio system, a 7″ TFT Display, a 10.25″ Touch Screen NAV, DAB Radio, and Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto.
The 500e Giorgio Armani is driven by an electric motor with an output of 87 kW and 118 hp, providing a range of up to 320 km in the WLTP combined cycle. It also incorporates the most advanced ADAS and Level 2 assisted driving technology. In accordance with the brand’s goal to promote Made in Italy worldwide, the limited-edition model will be available for sale in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa, Japan, and Australia starting next year.
Regardless of your opinion on Fiat, the Italian manufacturer cannot be criticized for diluting its brand image to attract a broader audience. With each unique version of the Fiat 500, the company appears to cater to an increasingly targeted and narrower demographic. At the 2024 L.A. Auto Show, the automaker introduced its latest foray into this trend, the Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition, which seems aimed at aficionados of both compact vehicles and high-end Italian fashion.
Making its entrance at the Giorgio Armani boutique in Beverly Hills, the special Fiat 500e fits perfectly on Rodeo Drive. This is because downtown Beverly Hills features small, narrow streets, so you wouldn’t need much car size or a substantial EV range to effortlessly and quietly navigate while accumulating charges on your AMEX black card.
For those of you who are curious, let’s clarify: The 2025 Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition is essentially identical to any other 500e. It still boasts a 117-hp electric motor and an EPA estimated range of 149 miles (although Fiat highlights that this number can increase to 162 miles in city driving with frequent stops and lower speeds). Moreover, it contains the same 42-kWh battery that can reach 80 percent charge in roughly 35 minutes using a fast charger with rates up to 85 kW—a moderately acceptable charging rate by today’s standards, but more than sufficient given the compact size of the 500e’s battery. Apart from that, most features remain unchanged. Much like in fashion, the Giorgio Armani Edition of the Fiat 500e is primarily focused on aesthetics.
This brings us to the exterior. The 500e Giorgio Armani Edition is available in two shades: Green or a custom “ceramic Greige,” a unique color developed by Armani that merges gray and beige. If those colors seem a bit understated, the distinctive 17-inch Giorgio Armani logo wheels are hard to overlook, even for the most casual observer. And if someone misses all of that, there are Giorgio Armani signatures embossed beneath the rear quarter windows. Alright, they might overlook those as well.
The interior of the 500e Giorgio Armani showcases the design more prominently. It features color-coordinated eco-leather seats with tone-on-tone styling inspired by the Armani/Casa fashion collection. As expected, the front seat headrests display the Giorgio Armani logo, and the brand’s signature is featured on the dashboard. Speaking of which, the dashboard might appear as a single, expansive woodgrain inlay, but it is actually composed of laser-cut material designed to resemble wood.
The Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition retains the optional seven-speaker JBL audio system offered in other models. What differentiates it are the four “Virtual Venues” included with the system, handpicked by Italian Opera Maestro Andrea Bocelli.
We wouldn’t be truthful if we claimed this 500e doesn’t have an attractive appearance. Admittedly, this 500e may not take you far or drive particularly fast, but you will do so in style. Among the various 500e “drops” introduced thus far—including the Inspi(Red), Inspired by Beauty, Inspired by Los Angeles, and Inspired by Music—this one stands out as the most unique and least “inspired.”
